Third Cyber Crime Conference Prepare PreventProsecute

AFRICAN CYBER SECURITY

The Theme of our 3rd Cyber Crime Conference

PREPARE | PROTECT | PROSECUTE

Prepare

Are you prepared for a cyber-attack? Do you have a disaster management plan in place on how to react and recover if you are targeted by insiders or hackers. Do you know who to call for help? Is your data regulary backed up externally in case of your whole network being compromised? Preperation is the key to understanding your weak spots and strengthening them where you can.

prevent

Do you properly screen your employees regularly? Have you identified potential high risk employees in your organisation? Do you have the right security and cyber policies in place? Is your antivirus up to date? Do you have a firewall and how strong is it? Have you ever run a penetration test to establish vulnerability? Do you keep passwords secure and change them regularly?

Prosecute

Do you have a strong investigative team on standby to ensure a successful prosecution? How well do you know the law? Is the legal framework adequate to enable successful prosecution and asset recovery? Why should you prosecute insider attacks? Where are the pitfalls and how do you work around them? Understanding the inadequacies will help you to formulate a plan to overcome them!

Poor cyber security is increasingly affecting all levels of society, whether it is national, local, or personal. With a few strokes of a keyboard, nation states, terrorist groups, stateless organizations, and rogue individuals can launch a cyber-attack from anywhere, at any time, disrupting and damaging our democracy and way of life.

The Conference’s mission is to establish a multi-stakeholder consortium that brings together industry, government and academic interests in an effort to improve the state of cyber security on both a domestic and international level.

Conference attendees come from the public and private sectors, bringing together thought leaders from industry, government, and academia. Our audience is designed to reflect the growing challenge that cyber security poses by no longer being contained within the realm of IT. C-level executives, technology leaders, public policy makers, lawyers, forward thinking business owners, and end users will join us at the.3rd Annual African Cyber Conference 2017.
