Simani Wadi is the General Manager for Minerva Risk Solutions, a leading insurance and risk management services brokerage firm in Zimbabwe. An IIZ Associate and a graduate from the Wits Business School and a holder of the IIZ Diploma. Has attended several management development and insurance technical trainings including SMI and he has over 16 years’ experience in risk advisory, risk transfer and structured solutions for clients across all sectors of the economy. He is responsible for ensuring that clients’ insurance and risk management needs are aligned to their strategic imperatives using data analytics to come up with tailor made solutions. He is a past president of the Insurance Institute of Harare.

The Honeynet Project is a leading international non-profit security research organization, dedicated to investigating the latest attacks and developing open source security tools to improve Internet security. With Chapters around the world, our volunteers have contributed to fight against malware (such as Confickr), discovering new attacks and creating security tools used by businesses and government agencies all over the world.

Mr. Makatiani is currently leading a continent-wide (Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia) effort to develop research based insights on the state of cyber security in Africa.

Before Serianu Limited, Mr. Makatiani worked with Deloitte and Touche, RSA Security, EMC Corporation and Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. Mr. Makatiani has a strong passion for Cyber security issues with an emphasis on research based consulting. He has over 15 years experience in the ICT industry– focusing on ICT strategy, Analytics, Risk and Compliance. He has led numerous engagements across the world– including Kenya, United States, Israel, Ireland, Singapore, China, Egypt and India.

William holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a Masters in Science of Finance from Clark University, Worcester, MA USA and is also a graduate of EMC Corporation’s Management Leadership Programme.
